RESULTS FROM STATE CONTESTS AND DISTRICT ROUND UP. ALSO A BIG SHOUT OUT GOES TO D. FELGER PHOTOGRAPHY AND
HER CREW FOR ALL THE GREAT PICTURES THEY TOOK DURING CONTESTS.
Wheeler County 4-H had a busy week compering at district and state 4-H contests. Our 4-H members did and outstanding job representing our County bringing home lots of awards. The Wheeler County Extension Office is very proud of all these kids and their achievements. They kicked the week off on Tuesday with two teams competing in the State 4-H Wildlife contest which the they qualified for a few weeks ago. Team 1 consisting of Etta Corse, Stanford Corse, Travis Huff, and Matia Elmore placed 6th and Team 2 consisting of Elyse Leon, Tazlan Brown, Jack Huff, and Troy Leon Placed 8th. On Thursday 4-H members competed in Grass ID and consumer decision making. In Grass ID the Intermediate team consisting of Stanford Corse, Matia Elmore, Tazlan Brown, and Travis Huff placed 2nd and Elyse Leon competed as and individual. The Junior team consisting of Etta Corse, Jack Huff, and Troy Leon Placed 1st. Etta Corse was the high point Junior individual, Jack Huff was the 2nd high point Junior individual, and Troy Leon was the 3rd high point Junior Individual in Grass ID. In Consumer decision making the Intermediate team consisting of Stanford Corse, Matia Elmore, Tazlan Brown, and Travis Huff placed 2nd with Stanford Corse winning the over all High point individual in the intermediate division. Etta Corse and Jack Huff both competed in the Junior division of Consumer Decision making as individuals. On Saturday Stanford Corse placed 1st in the Buying Dressy division on Fashion show, Tazlan Brown placed 2nd in Construction First time fashion division of the fashion show, Etta Corse placed 2nd in the Construction Casual division of the Fashion Show, and Jake Hazzard placed 4th in Construction first time fashion division of the Fashion Show. Stanford and Etta Corse also competed in the livestock skill-a-thon, Stanford was the 2nd place individual in the intermediate division and Etta was the 2nd place individual in the Junior division. There were also a few online contests where the kids had video themselves and submit it to be judged. In share the fun Etta Corse placed 1st in Junior Vocal and Stanford Corse placed 1st in the intermediate Poetry/Prose division.
In Educational Presentations Jake Hazzard placed 1st in the Junior Health and wellness division. It was a great week for Wheeler County 4-H and we are very proud of all these kids and their accomplishments.
